About The Practice
At Earth Landscapes, we specialise in the design and creation of highly individual private gardens. With design studios based in both Somerset and Hertfordshire, we work on commissions locally and across the UK.
Founded in 2006 by garden and landscape designer Jason Claridge, Earth Landscapes is built on over 30 years experience in the garden design and landscape industry. Jason’s deep understanding and passion for horticulture, design, landscape architecture, and nature – shaped by both hands-on experience and formal study – forms the foundation of our studio’s creative, site specific approach.
Planting plays a pivotal role in all our gardens. For us, it is the plants that bring a space to life and define its character. When combined with bold lines, a strong architectural framework, and natural materials, this planting-led approach creates a sense of balance and clarity that is central to our work.
Over the years, Jason has had the oppourtunity to collaborate with some of the most skilled craftspeople in the field. These relationships have allowed him to build a small, professional team of dedicated garden designers and landscapers who share his commitment to quality, creativity and craftsmanship.

Plants, nature and gardens have always played a big part in Jason’s life. From a young age he has always been around plants – from sowing seeds and growing vegetables with his mother in the family garden to mowing the lawns of the older generation in the village. The rest of his time was spent playing in the field and woodlands where he grew up.
Jason started his career working for a large country estate where he was heavily involved in the planting and management of native woodlands and habitat creation. His passion for plants and wildlife was furthered whilst working in a grade I listed woodland garden. It was here that he gained extensive knowledge of plants and horticulture and his love of plants was truly cemeted.
Jason’s passion for plants and garden design led to him going on to gain formal qualifications in horticulture, garden design and landscape architecture. From here Jason had a strong vison of the garden design and landscape practice he wanted to create and Earth Landscapes was formed.
