Our Process
Brief & Consultation
We begin with an initial meeting to understand your aspirations, the site’s sense of place and its inherent character, along with the scale and scope of the project. These early insights allow us to shape a detailed brief that forms the foundation of your design.
Site Survey & Analysis
We carry out a comprehensive site survey and analysis, taking into account existing topography, buidlings, sight lines, surrounding context, features, trees and plants. We also undertake a full photographic survey. This information allows us to develop an accurate base plan and clear understanding of the site. For larger of more complex projects, we commission a full topographic survey.
Concept
With the survey complete, we begin developing the creative direction for your design – shaping the style, atmosphere, and functionality of your future garden. Once initial concepts are refined, we produce a concept masterplan supported by a 3D model and visualisation so you can fully experience the proposed concept.
Detailed Design
Once the concept is agreed, we create a fully detailed masterplan, specifying soft and hard landscaping elements including structural planting, materials, and key features. The finalised masterplan serves as the key reference for the construction phase of your project, whilst a final 3D visualisation or walkthrough provides you with a clear vision of the finalised version.
Planting Design
Planting is central to our work. Once the detailed design is complete, we can produce full planting plans, specifications, and schedules. Our planting expertise is valued by clients whether as a standalone service or as part of a full garden makeover. As designers with extensive horticultural and planting knowledge, we always love personally planting the schemes we design.

Project Implementation
We offer comprehensive project management, coordinating contractors and overseeing every stage of the build to ensure the highest standards. In Hertfordshire, clients who choose our in-house landscape implementation team benefit from a seamless journey from concept through to completion.
In Somerset, we provide the same level of project oversight, together with planting design and planting implementation, working closely with trusted local landscaping partners where hard landscaping is required. We oversee the hard landscaping throughout the build and can undertake the planting ourselves, ensuring continuity of care and attention from concept through to completion.
